Chris Corfe

Managing Director

NCA Level 4 Arb/Hort, City and Guilds UK Arboricultural Diploma Level 2, Member NZAA

“If you’re going to do it, do it well.”

Chris worked with Marc Doyle in 2007 while studying at Wintec in Hamilton. The knowledge and experience Marc shared were invaluable. After qualifying, Chris contracted and managed an arboricultural team in England for two years—the exposure to large, technical jobs built on his experience even further.

When he returned to New Zealand in 2009, he bought the business from Marc. Since owning the business, Chris has enjoyed the transition from arborist on the tools to working and growing a business and team of talented individuals. In addition, Chris enjoys making things with his hands, drawing, and skiing in his spare time.

Holly Black

Gardening Manager

Level 4 Certificate in Horticulture

I've been in the gardening world for 17 years, and I still love every minute of it! I trained with Primary ITO in Whanganui, completed my apprenticeship, and ran my own business for a while. There's nothing better than getting stuck in, doing the hard work, and seeing a garden come to life – especially when it brings a smile to the client's face.

The best part of working at Marc Doyle Treework? Definitely the positive vibes and the awesome team.

When I’m not working, I’m all about family time, collecting indoor plants, and hitting the trails for some downhill mountain biking when I can.

Vanessa Hedges

Gardening Team Leader

Bachelor of Landscape Architecture (part)

With a working history of landscape design, installation, and project management over the last 10 years I bring hands on experience, strong plant knowledge predominantly in nz natives, passion for quality, and a keen design eye to the Marc Doyle Gardening Team.  I enjoy the variation this field of work provides and find a great deal of satisfaction seeing a design through to a completed landscape whilst maintaining a positive client relationship.

With a (almost completed) Bachelor in Landscape Architecture I approach each project with an ability to look at the bigger picture and think outside the norm, while remaining functional and in line with what the client requires.

I have interest in environmental impacts and creating beautiful spaces for properties big and small.

Being at Marc Doyle allows me maintain a healthy work life balance which is so crucial with a busy family.

Outside of work I enjoy getting out into the great outdoors doing caravan life, fishing, dance, photography, painting/drawing, and enjoying life with my two children and husband.
